We aim to make the Camp Stella Puella experience accessible to all.
Day Camp is located at 305 Helena St., Dunnville, ON. Campers will benefit from a field-trip to Shared Harvest Community Farm, recreational swimming, and a social action initiative within the local community.
Day campers are placed in groups for age-appropriate programming. The camper to staff ratio is 6:1. During the week, day campers bring their own packed lunches and are encouraged to bring reusable water-bottles and containers. Regular camp hours are 9am to 4pm, however, pre-camp and after-camp services are available for an additional charge.
Leaders In Training Program:
Our Leader in Training (LIT) program is for campers aged 13-14. Rates for campers in this age group do not differ from our regular session rates, but these campers will be given the opportunity to play a valuable leadership role in the camp atmosphere. LITs will bond as a group and work as a team to contribute to workshops and activities run by the counselors of Camp Stella Puella. In addition, LITs will be offered intimate self-esteem and body image workshops designed for their age group. LITs also have the opportunity to participate in a one night overnight experience which includes canoeing, a campfire and reflection activities. Campers aged 13-14 years will automatically be enrolled in the LIT program. LITs receive community hours that can go towards their high school diploma.
Now introducing your Heads of Day Camp for 2015!
Shannon Murdoch:
Shannon has gone through CSP’s LIT program and was a counsellor at last year’s Day Camp Supreme. She will be entering Grade 12 at Walkerton District Community School next year and has been a member of her school’s Student Council and Me to We groups. Shannon is an avid volunteer in her school and community and is passionate about making the world a better place. She looks forward to seeing many familiar faces as a Head of Day Camp this summer!
Laura Falco:
Laura has been with CSP since its start in 2008. She has been both a camper and LIT, and was a counsellor at last year’s Day Camp Supreme. She is starting her Bachelor of Music degree at Carleton University this upcoming fall and enjoys uniting people through her passions of music and songwriting. She was the President of her school’s Student Council last year and has been the Arts Prefect in her senior year. She is passionate about gender equality and climate change and looks forward to giving back to CSP this summer as a Head of Day Camp!
Kelly Tate
Kelly is a Business and Horticulture student at Niagara College where she has had the opportunity to compete nationally with the EnactUs organization and experience a triple-bottom-line (social, environmental, and financial) approach to entrepreneurship. She is excited to be learning more about sustainable agriculture and food policy issues this summer while volunteering at Shared Harvest Community Farm. Kelly is eager to share her knowledge with Food not Bombs Niagara – an organization that is dedicated to feeding hungry people vegan food that would otherwise go to waste – and Brock Dig in hopes of contributing to further community development initiatives in the Niagara Region.
